The Chartered Global Management Accountant® designation and these four letters after your last name — CGMA® — boost your credibility, demonstrating your operational, management and strategic knowledge.
Before you can advise industry leaders and board members on strategies to improve business operations, such as artificial intelligence and robotic process automation, you need to complete your education.
And you have options. There are three different learning pathways that allow you to take your knowledge to the next level.
The benefits of the journey to management accountancy begin on day one: Whilst taking steps to pursue the CGMA designation, you let your professional network and future boss know that you are dedicated and have ambition.
There is more than one pathway to the CGMA designation.
Everyone has a personal learning style and you’re likely to have competing obligations — friends, family, TikTok dances to slay — so you can choose which learning pathway is best for you.
You can shape your studies to include a tuition provider, official textbooks and resources, online learning, or a combination of all of these.
Each pathway — studying with a tuition provider; independent or self-study; or the new online digital pathway through the CGMA Finance Leadership Program — is based on the CGMA syllabus and leads to the CGMA designation.
The CGMA syllabus is designed to prepare you for your career in the in-demand accounting profession by building your technical, digital, business and leadership skills.
Timelines for completion are flexible.
CGMA candidates who choose the tuition provider or self-study pathway, on average, take one year to complete the Certificate in Business Accounting, and four years to complete the three levels of the CGMA syllabus: Operational Level, Management Level and Strategic Level.
Tuition providers are members of the AICPA & CIMA Registered Tuition Provider Scheme, and you can find a tuition provider that meets your study trajectory and preferred learning format.
With the CGMA Finance Leadership Program— the online digital pathway —your learning resources are part of the all-inclusive subscription package. Materials and assessments are delivered online in a self-paced e-learning environment, and it takes approximately 3–4 years to complete the three levels of the syllabus.
Regardless of which pathway you choose, you will gain access to a community of peers and invaluable study resources and guides available on the CGMA Study Hub.
Studying with CIMA connects you with peers on the same journey.
You aren’t alone when you study with CIMA. Support from fellow students and professional guidance from experts is readily available. Dedicated staff and a professional network that spans 196 countries and territories supports your journey.
